My Story
Hi 👋 I'm Sarah, I'm Mum to 5, Ebony, Freya, Rhys and twins Bonny and Harry, I'm also Oma (nan) to Elodie.
Up until 6 and a half years ago I worked in childcare, I ran an after school club and playscheme at my kids school and supported sen children in a children's centre. I'd also been a youth worker and volunteered at club for adults with learning disabilities, so you can see my background. I left those jobs and became a nanny to 2 adorable children 😍 and started the next chapter of my working life, or so I thought.
A few months in I found out I was pregnant 🤰, what a shock that was, the bigger shock was still to come, it was twins!! Then at my 12 week scan things really became scary 😨 they found a problem with 1 of the twins, my heart sank!
We were told to expect the worse, Harry wouldn't survive my pregnancy, let alone birth, he was a very poorly baby. I went into labour at 29 weeks and luckily gave birth to 2 breathing babies 👶 👶 but that didn't mean Harry was out of the woods yet. Bonny was a healthy baby and came home after 3 months, but Harry was in hospital for 6. When we came home we knew our time with him was limited, so I had given up work to be his full-time carer.
Fast forward to a year September 22 and Bonny started school 🏫 Harry was doing well and was at a specialist school and I felt lost. Then this amazing lady started talking to me in the playground, asking about me and Harry, something I'd become unused to, she started talking about a wall fan and scent pods that could help Harry over the long winter period, when he often gets nasty coughs and colds, she gave me a fan and some pods to try, they smelt amazing!!
I started buying Scentsy products from her, her name is Emily and she slowly encouraged me to try new products.
Then in January of last year, just a few months after learning about Scentsy, Emily asked me to join her team and my Scentsy journey really started 🤩🤩
Ive had a year trying to build up my business and its been slow going, which is fine, I was working it around my family, not being consistent with my posts or following up, but it was helping me with my mh, something that I'd really struggled with since my pregnancy with the twins.
I loved the fact I could work Scentsy around hospital appointments, Harry being ill, school holidays and my mh overwhelming me. The extra pennies coming in helped us to be able to do fun things together.
Fast forward to January of this year, I went to my 1st Scentsy event, World Tour in Exeter, was I nervous, petrified more like it!!
But as usual I had Emily there to give me the confidence to walk through the door, she said you've got this and you know what she was right. The night was amazing, to be surrounded by so much love for the product and so much support from each other was overwhelming, but just what I needed to move forward.
I sat quietly, didn't answer any questions, I wasn't feeling that confident, but I absorbed and listened to what everyone around me was saying. You can imagine my utter surprise when I won a raffle prize!!
I came home from WT buzzing and worked my butt off, putting all I'd learned into practise and had my highest monthly prv to date. I've booked a party for March (I still have dates available, if anyone would like 1), I've followed up with previous orders and have gotten a few new customers.
It hasn't been easy and I still have days when my mh tells me I can't do it, but with my Scentsy family behind me I know I can and so could you!!
